How Many Hours Should I Work?

Working can get tough at times, and sometimes you may not even feel like doing it. But when you have began building your network marketing business, are you choosing to work only certain hours? In this article, I will explain why network marketers are more successful than an employee, and explain why it all comes down to “how many hours should I work.”

An employee thinks of his time by the hour as a set amount of pay. If the employee works 8 hours and makes $80 then he/she sees it as $10 an hour. That is fairly easy to understand.

The entrepreneur however, like you now because you began a network marketing business, should never look at work this way. You must be prepared to put in a lot of hours for very little in the start. After a few years of working your network marketing business, your hourly wage can be much greater in a month than most employees make in a year.

Do not ever look at your network marketing business the way an employee sees a job as being worth it. This is where most quit and say “It doesn’t work.” They do not look at long term like they should. Remember, the employee always works for the entrepreneur.

So ask yourself now, “How many hours should I work.”

The answer is, “As many as you possibly can.” Especially when you first begin your business in network marketing. Remember that a network marketing business is great because you can make profits like owning a large company, without the investment it took to buy a large company. The profits are outrageous, and everyone can afford to begin in network marketing.

So be prepared to work long hours everyday. Do not be the employee who sees the weekend as time to take off work. As entrepreneurs, we know the weekends are the best time for business.

How many hours are you going to work? Will you see it like an employee’s mind and choose 8 hours? Or will you do as little as possible? The more hours and days you choose to work, will increase the amount of success you have.

Keep your new business partners away from the employee mindset, or you will not be able to duplicate. If you hear one say “I only made $1 an hour my first week, this isn’t worth it” then you must make sure to help them understand, this is long term. An entrepreneur does not have set hours or work days.

An entrepreneur will take their business with them everywhere they go. They live in the business. If you do not feel like you are in this business every minute of the day yet, then perhaps you aren’t making the results you want either. Step it up a notch. “How many hours should I work” will depend on how successful you want to become.

Jaye, That was hard to me at first but after I
figured it out it made sense. That’s the way
it is with any business that you own. There is
no days off until after you have made enough
money to take a day off. Great lesson, I enjoyed
    it. Thanks Jaye

You right, a huge percentage of people have that mindset. They see their business as a job. I keep recommending to separate the two, also advise them that they are their own bosses now, success depends solely on them, and many hours and dedication is lying ahead of them, I insist on never giving up. Remember the Tortoise and the Hare fable I ask many times. Tortoise persistence and patience made her win the race.

Very good message Jaye, saying it like it is, is better than promising gold from the first day. As for me, I really have to step up to the plate and increase my activities. Your lessons are priceless, thank you for keeping them coming. They are constant reminders that success can happen for everyone.

I agree entirely Jaye when you are self employed is it entirely different than when you are employee and are working a job. Being self employed demands a different type of commmitment.

Awesome video/message Jaye. Amazing how much $ I made for companies “working” 60+ hours per week! (of course I made a bunch too but…) I work all the time-as you say I wake up with it and go to sleep with it and carry it around in a “diaper bag” so to speak. Sad when I see those that do not work to build Their Business with HEART! (And very sad the shiny ads that some fall for “for quick buck” scams) You are a sharp young man with the world at your feet! Thanks, PJ

Thank you Jaye! So many are out there lying to people telling them that they can be a millionaire without doing any work. It just doesn’t happen unless you buy the winning lotto ticket. For one, you have to develop yourself to the point where you can handle weekly income that is more than most yearly income. Most people think that money will solve all their problems and it does help most but it also brings other problems with it. You have to develop yourself, learn the skills you need to manage that type of lifestyle. It’s a Growing process and takes effort, mindset work, being willing to learn new things and actually learn how to run a large organization. Is it worth it? You betcha!! 🙂 This is an Amazing industry but people need to be realistic and understand that its not a Genie bottle. Appreciate hearing the Truth Jaye, Tks again!

Jaye this is excellent. Such good advice, and so true. After being in the “nine-to-five” world for so long, it is a difficult mindset to change. Takes practice, getting used to, determination, and self-discipline. Not always an easy task!

Jaye Thank You. I managed a business and owned my own business. When you have a pay check coming in you fall into that rut that a lot of people do and get comfortable with no drive to do more. When your in business for yourself you have to make sure the checks are coming. You have the drive to work harder and longer till you have a base going and keep building. Starting to build a relation ship and grow with the relationship. Very good video and you tell it like is. Katherine Clement said it like it is also.
