Email Marketing Lists | List Building | How To Build An Email Marketing List
Ever heard the term “The Money is in the list?
I bet you have, and if you wonder “Is this true”, then you will be surprised at just how real that saying is. So we will be diving much deeper into building email marketing lists and the strategies that make responsive email marketing lists.
First off, let’s take a look at the strategies that will build you an email marketing list fast, but are not wise to use. These strategies are things such as buying email lists, using programs that build you list, or joining websites that you trade your email for theirs.
The reason these do not work, is because there is no relationship involved beforehand. When you purchase the list, the people are burned out and ignore all the junk they get. When you trade, the people are not interested in you or your offers, just as you were not interested in them.
So How Do I Build Effective Email Marketing Lists?
You must give value beforehand. It’s really that simple. The way you give value is by giving away a free offer in exchange for the prospects contact info.
Normally this is done with a website, and using a form from your autoresponder provider. You need to give away something of value on your website that fits to your niche.
If you have use of funnels, or capture pages, this is another great way to build a responsive email marketing list. Simply giving away a free training, free ebook, etc, can give your prospects a highly effective opinion about you, meaning they will open more of your emails.
There are several ways to build an email marketing list, and give value. Videos can be a great strategy, webinars, free gifts, and even asking a prospect who you have met. Many prospects you speak to on the phone, will be glad to be added to your list is you ask.
How Do I Keep My Prospects Subscribed On My Email Marketing List?
Bad news is, there is no way to keep them all from unsubscribing. Even giving away value, you will get those who plan not to stay, just get the gift and run. That’s okay, because most will stay, but if you abuse your email marketing lists, they too will leave.
Do not be sending out emails everyday asking for your email marketing list to buy something. Having offers are okay from time to time, and are needed to survive, but don’t abuse it. Use the 80/20 rule, and you will be okay. Give 80% value, and 20% offers!
You need to email your marketing lists more value, tips, and emails that will benefit them more. If you are seen to your list as a person who shares benefits to them, they will stay much longer and become much more responsive. This will also mean, that when you do have an offer, they are much more inclined to purchase since they know, like, and trust you.

I agree with you; buying lists, etc. are an absolute waste of time and money.
